On 10 December 1948, the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which has become a universal standard for defending and promoting human rights. Every year on 10 December, Human Rights Day marks the adoption of the Universal Declaration. On Human Rights Day it is celebrated around the globe that “All human beings are born with equal and inalienable rights and fundamental freedoms”.
All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood.
Amnesty International of Croatia will be conducting an “Apelmanija” world writing campaign to appealing on for the protection of human rights to vulnerable individuals and groups. In the lobby of movie theatre “Europa” appeals will be collected for five cases from all over the world with a one special case from Croatia, Milan Levar, a former Croatian soldier who has spoken publicly about war crimes in Gospić (Reason: Aksing for investigation about his unsolved murder)
